Shanahan’s Barn Wedding

This wedding celebration at Shanahan’s Barn in Charlevoix, Michigan was a few years in the making. Eric and Elena were planning to get married during COVID, but a large celebration was not in order. So, instead, through a casual conversation, they decided to elope to Beaver Island in 2021 for their wedding with family. After a fantastic wedding, they celebrated a year later in Charlevoix at Shanahan’s Barn with all of their family and friends.

I am not quite sure how to even begin to put into words what I have felt working with Eric and Elena these past couple of year. I met Eric and Elena a few years ago when we took their engagement photos at Michigan State University. Upon meeting Eric and Elena, you could feel the peace, calm, love and joy that just embodies who they are. You could see and feel that they were just a wonderful couple together. In addition, we had a lot in common. From attending the same university, Michigan State University, to having family ties and connection to Beaver Island and Charlevoix. Getting to know these two and their families have been a complete joy. And while COVID created havoc for their original wedding plans, I really think it made for an even more incredible two years of celebration of their love for each other. Their elopement and wedding celebration were the perfect way for them to celebrate their marriage in all of the most meaningful ways.

Besides, who wouldn’t want two incredible wedding celebrations! Congratulations Elena and Eric. I cannot wait to see where you go from here. Much love and appreciation. Rayan
