This wedding was one for the books for Riverside Receptions! The bride arrived to the wedding in a helicopter, which was a surprise to everyone, including the groom!

Katie grew up with her dad flying helicopters and as a result, she knew she wanted to incorporate the helicopter into her wedding day plans.  So Katie and her dad hatched a plan to surprise all of the wedding guests, including the groom, by having her arrive to the wedding in a helicopter.

The helicopter picked up Katie at her parents home just before the wedding ceremony.  As Katie and her dad took off into the air, her mother, grandma and I rapidly drove to Riverside Receptions about 3 miles away.  The helicopter circled the area until we gave the signal that we had arrived.  I ran through the parking lot and down the hill to capture the moment she flew overhead.  As the helicopter flew over the wedding service (at just the right time!), guest were a little confused as to why a helicopter would be flying over the venue.  However, upon flying over the venue a second time, and seeing Katie waving outside of the helicopter, everyone started to realize what was happening!  (See Zach’s surprise below.)

Following the service, Katie took Zack for his first helicopter ride.

The rest of the day was incredible beautiful and heart felt.  Riverside Receptions is an incredible location for a wedding and a reception.  And Katie and Zack’s celebration with family and friends was just perfect!  Congratulations Katie and Zack!
